You know how the most annoying part of studying for an exam is weeding through a whole bunch of previous question papers to find the questions relevant to the concept you're shaky about? Well, here's a product that does that for you.
ExamLink is a tool that assists a GATE aspirant by providing the user with a comprehensive set of questions from previous GATE papers based on the query inputted.
The tool can be used in any of the following three ways.
1. The user inputs a keyword, and the tool provides a list of questions that have appeared in previous GATE papers which exactly match the keyword(s). Some of the questions are also accompanied with a video with the exact time frame where it is most likely that the solution is explained.
2. The user inputs a keyword, and the tool provides all the questions that have appeared in previous GATE papers that are related to the keyword inputted - For example, if the input is “LL Parser”, the tool will provide a set of Compiler Design related questions.
3. The user inputs a keyword, and the tool will give provide a set of videos where that concept has been mentioned.
So Anoop, Ashish and I worked on this project over six months, under the guidance of Dr. Viraj Kumar.
All of us had internships, and we ended up doing most of the work on weekends, and post 9 pm on weekdays over gallons of caffeine. Sigh. In the end, I guess it was all worth it though.
We wrote a paper about what we did, titled Enhancing Digital Educational Repositories by Linking Videos and Examinations which was presented at an IEEE conference - the 7th T4E conference, held at NIT Warangal, India.
Guess we didn't take enough pictures though. That's Ashish on the extreme right, Anoop in the center, and me on the left - Taken on the day of our college farewell.
